Last year, Pier Park hosted the very first New Year's Eve Beachball Drop! The party was such a success, that it looks to be an annual event.
This event is open to the public, and is FREE! Beginning at 5:30 pm, family fun abounds. There will be activities for the kids, inflated bouncing rides, street performers, fireworks, party favors, and much more! At 9:00 pm, the countdown celebration begins. The streets will be closed to traffic and entertainment and prize giveaways will commence. At midnight, a giant, 800 pound beach ball will drop 12 stories marking the beginning of 2010. A beautiful display of fireworks top off the celebration.
